Mastering the Spindle Square Plus
Step-by-Step Alignment Process
1.Position the Plate
Lay the round plate on the table, aligning the knobs in the T-slot for stability.
2.Trace and Mark
Hold the plate steady and trace the four index lines and then mark center hole with a marker.
3.Adjust and Align
Insert the 10/24 screw into the bottom of the spindle square, lower the screw to your table, dial the table to the center mark made from the template, and adjust the head to zero for precise alignment.
4.Adjust the Head X and Y
Adjust the head X and Y Axis to Minus one half degree or less. Note: Closer to Zero is better.
5. X Axis Tram
Rotate the Spindle to Slot#2
Lower the Spindle to Zero on the Dial.
Rotate the Spindle to Slot #3
Divide the reading by 2
Raise the table by this amount
Now adjust the Spindle to Zero
6. Y Axis Tram
Rotate the Spindle To Slot #4. Lower the quill to ZERO.

Multiply this reading by 2.2
If the reading is 60. Then 60x2.2=132. Raise the table to read 132. Adjust the table to ZERO.
